Orioles Minor League Spotlight: Jason Esposito, Nick Additon

PressBox spotlights some of the top players in the Orioles' minor league system during the past week.

Jason Esposito, Third Baseman, Single-A Frederick

After hitting three home runs during his first 88 games of the season for the Keys, Esposito had four home runs in a six-game stretch from July 23-29. Two of those home runs came July 23 during a 10-2 win against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. During his power surge, Esposito batted .375 with six RBIs. For the season, the 24-year-old Esposito is hitting .259 with seven home runs and 33 RBIs.

Additon continues to provide strong relief pitching for the Tides. On July 23, he appeared in the third inning and pitched five scoreless innings to get the win against the Toledo Mud Hens. Additon gave up three hits and struck out four to earn his sixth win of the season. Additon has been at his best all season coming out of the bullpen. He is 6-0 with a 3.26 ERA during 17 appearances as a reliever.
