UVA's victory had a number of amazing sub-plots:
* Coach Starsia revamped a porous defense 5 games ago; the zone defense stymied the past 4 teams.
* Removing the Bratton brothers proved to be classic "addition by subtraction", since assists skyrocketed as did the team's winning attitude. Credit both the coaches and players, since the disciplinary rules were written by the players and supported by the coaches.
*The Terps shut down Steele Stanwick but forgot about Briggs, White, and O'Reilly.
*Most of all, credit senior captain and defenseman Bray Malphrus, the true leader and rules enforcer of the team, who almost single handedly willed the team to its past 4 victories.
