• This Little Piggy: Everybody knows ESPN will televise anything to fill time, even the hot dog-gobbling contest. The question is, why do so many people watch and then pretend it makes them sick?
• Not A Contestant: They won't find Miss South Carolina near one of those eating contests. Bree Boyce, 22, said she had lost 110 pounds before winning the beauty contest.
• Something To Do: In the absence of NFL and NBA, a couple of Web sites said they're starting fantasy leagues in hot dog eating and beach volleyball. All aboard!
• Occupational Hazard: NBA star Carmelo Anthony is getting special treatment for pain in his right elbow. Some always said the Baltimore Bomber would shoot himself right out of the league -- if there was one!
• Garbage In, Garbage Out: Computers do screw up royally. The latest women's tennis rankings have Serena Williams, who unquestionably is still one of the top five players in the world, ranked 175th.
