Blue Jays Crosschecker To Head Up O's Scouting
Almost a month after Tony LaCava rejected the Orioles' offer to become general manager, Baltimore has gone a little deeper into the Blue Jays well to snag one of its other front office members.
The Orioles are, according to multiple reports, expected to hire Gary Rajsich to replace Joe Jordan as director of scouting. Rajsich is the national crosschecker for Toronto, but previously worked under Orioles executive vice president of baseball operations Dan Duquette in Boston. He played four Major League seasons during the early- to mid-1980s.
The Sun first reported Rajsich's hire. The Birds still have Dave and John Stockstill in the fold, but many familiar faces have departed with the end of the Andy MacPhail era. Director of baseball operations Matt Klentak left for the Angels last week and was seen as an up-and-comer.
