Navy Women Claim Patriot League Championship

Women's Basketball
Navy overcame a seven-point halftime deficit during the Patriot League tournament championship game to defeat Holy Cross, 57-48, and earn an NCAA Tournament bid March 10. Jade Geif led the Midshipmen (18-13) with 22 points and seven rebounds, while Alix Membreno added 13 points. The team will learn of its seeding in the Selection Show on ESPN March 12.
UMBC's run toward its second NCAA Tournament bid came to an end following its 69-61 American East Conference championship game loss to Albany March 10. Senior Tope Obajolu led the Retrievers (17-15) with 16 points during her final collegiate game. Fellow seniors Erin Brown and Michelle Kurowski each scored 10 points.
Coppin State's season came to an end following a 64-43 loss to Hampton during the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament semifinals March 9. Senior Jeanine Manley led the Eagles (20-12) with 13 points during her final collegiate game.
Men's Basketball
Despite 30 points from Terrell Stoglin, Maryland's season came to an end following its 85-69 ACC Tournament quarterfinal loss to No. 4 North Carolina March 9. Senior Sean Mosley scored 10 points and pulled down six rebounds during his final game for the Terrapins. The Terps finished their 2011-2012 season with a record of 17-15.
