• This week featured several major injuries. See below.
• We may have seen the last save for one of the greatest relief pitchers of all time, Mariano Rivera. Go get David Robertson.
• Jered Weaver got a no hitter with his family in attendance.
• Heath Bell blew another save. Edward Mujica and Steve Cishek are next in line for saves.
• The Giants offense looks to be in trouble again after a major injury to Pablo Sandoval.
• The Angels are playing better, but not thanks to Albert Pujols.
• Surprise, Kevin Youkilis is on the DL again. The Will Middlebrooks era may have begun.
• A.J. Burnett had one of the worst starts in history. How could Clint Hurdle leave him in that long?
• The Rays suffered a huge loss, with Evan Longoria going down for two months.
• It looks as if Delmon Young will miss only a week after his ugly incident outside of his hotel. The police investigation is still pending, though.
• Bryce Harper and Mike Trout have arrived to save their teams' offense.
• Ryan Braun's three-homer game was more impressive because he did it in San Diego.
• Scott Downs has replaced Jordan Walden as the closer for the Angels. This may be only temporary.

• Brian Roberts hopes to return in June from a concussion.
• Zach Britton is out until at least May with a shoulder injury.
• Andrew Bailey is out until at least July with thumb surgery.
• Nolan Reimold is day-to-day with a bulging disc in his neck.
• Daisuke Matsuzaka is out until at least mid-May after elbow surgery.
• Carl Crawford is out until at least mid-July with a sprained elbow.
• Michael Pineda is out for the season with a torn labrum.
• Kyle Farnsworth has an elbow strain and is out until at least June.
• Sergio Santos is out until at least mid-May with a strained shoulder.
• Dustin McGowan has a sore foot. He could be back in May.
• Jacoby Ellsbury badly hurt his shoulder and is out until at least June.  
• Mariano Rivera is out for the season with a torn ACL.
• Josh Beckett may miss only one start with lat soreness.
• Kevin Youkilis will miss a couple weeks with a back injury.
• Nick Swisher is day-to-day with a hamstring injury.  
• Brett Gardner strained his elbow. He should be back next week.
• Evan Longoria is out 4-8 weeks with a partial tear in his hamstring.

AL Central:
• Grady Sizemore had back surgery and is out until at least June.
• Doug Fister is expected to return from a ribcage injury next week.
• Victor Martinez is out until at least August with a torn knee.
• Joakim Soria is out for the season with a torn elbow.
• Lorenzo Cain is out until at least mid-May with a groin strain.
• Felipe Paulino should return on May 5.
• Salvador Perez is recovering from knee surgery, and the earliest he'd be back is June.
• Scott Baker is out for the season with an elbow injury.
• Travis Hafner is day-to-day after being hit by a pitch in the knee.
• Delmon Young could return May 7 from his week-long suspension.
• Justin Morneau is day-to-day with fluid in his wrist.
• Danny Valencia is day-to-day with a sore back.
• Delmon Young could return May 7 from his week-long suspension.

AL West:
• Dallas Braden has had a setback in his recovery from shoulder surgery.
• Franklin Gutierrez is out until at least late May with chest and foot injuries.
• Kurt Suzuki is day-to-day after a pitch hit him in the hand.
• Brett Anderson is out until at least August after elbow surgery.
• Manny Ramirez is suspended for the first 50 games of the season.
• Jemile Weeks is day-to-day with a groin injury. 
• Miguel Olivo is out until at least mid-May with a strained groin.
• Adrian Beltre is day-to-day with a leg injury.
• Josh Hamilton is day-to-day with a tight back. 

NL East:
• Brian McCann is day-to-day with an eye issue.
• Ryan Zimmerman is day-to-day with a sore shoulder.
• Lucas Duda is day-to-day with an illness.
• Ryan Howard will be out until at least late May with an infection in his repaired Achilles.
• Chase Utley has serious knee issues. He might try to come back in May.
• Michael Morse is out until at least May with a strained lat.
• Drew Storen had bone fragments removed from his elbow. He will be out until July.
• Cliff Lee is out until at least early May with an oblique.
• Mike Pelfrey is out for the season with elbow surgery.
• Jason Bay is out until at least early May with fractured ribs.
• Adam LaRoche is day-to-day with an oblique.
• Brad Lidge is out until at least late May after having surgery for a sports hernia.

NL Central:
• Joel Hanrahan is day to day with a hamstring injury.
• Ryan Madson is out for the season with an elbow injury.
• Jordan Schafer is day-to-day with a back injury.
• Lance Berkman was placed on the DL with a calf issue.
• Chris Carpenter has no timetable for return with nerve issues in his shoulder and neck.
• Ryan Braun is day-to-day with a strained Achilles.
• Andrew McCutchen is day-to-day with an illness. 
• Mat Gamel is out for the season with a knee injury.

NL West:
• Stephen Drew is behind schedule from ankle surgery. Expect a late-May return at the earliest.
• Jorge De La Rosa is on track for a June return from elbow surgery.
• Jeremy Guthrie is out until at least mid-May with a shoulder injury.
• Carlos Quentin could be back by early May from a minor knee surgery.
• Tim Stauffer is at least two weeks away with elbow inflammation.
