Hamilton's Four-Homer Feat One For The Books
Josh Hamilton's four-home run performance against the Orioles will go down as one of the greatest, if not the greatest, in Camden Yards history.
At a certain point, you have to step back from fandom and objective journalism and just recognize that what Hamilton pulled off is the kind of thing that doesn't come around often. You just have to relish seeing it or, at the very least, catch the replay and or pull up highlight clips to re-watch over and over.
Jake Arrieta narrowly escaped giving up three homers, as he was pulled in the seventh in favor of reliever Zach Phillips, who promptly gave up the shot. For good measure, Hamilton hit one off Darren O'Day in the eighth. The fact that Hamilton almost hit a fifth during the fifth and had to settle for a double probably won't put a damper on his night.
He hit a home run Monday night, too, so he has five during the series already. Thanks to his Tuesday-night performance, he now has 14 this season, most in the majors.
