Less than a week removed from Memorial Day, the Lacrosse Report's focus shifts to the professional game.
Chesapeake Bayhawks midfielder Michael Kimmel was recognized as MLL Offensive Player of the Week May 21. Kimmel tallied a season-high six goals, including a two-pointer, while dishing out an assist to lead Chesapeake easily past the Hamilton Nationals, 20-7, May 18.
Kimmel doubled his goal production from the season's opening three contests and is second on the team with 13 points. The Bayhawks (3-1) travel to Denver, where area teams have fared remarkably well recently, to take on the Denver Outlaws (3-1) June 2. Denver midfielder Jeremy Sieverts is third in MLL scoring with 17 points (11 goals, three two-point goals and three assists).
