Arrieta Gets Another Shot Thanks To Matusz Injury
The Orioles had intended to make Jake Arrieta pitch out of the bullpen for a while until he corrected his issues, but he's starting tonight against the Pirates thanks to an odd injury to Brian Matusz.
Matusz took batting practice yesterday and bunted. The ball bounced off his nose. X-rays were negative Tuesday, but the O's wanted to be safe with Matusz.
Arrieta's chances could be rare, especially with veteran Jamie Moyer in Triple-A Norfolk ready to take a spot in the rotation. Moyer shined Saturday for the Tides after a rough start to the season with Colorado.
