American League Scenarios: The Last Day Of The Season
Nothing is easy for the Baltimore Orioles, and with one game remaining during the regular season, the Birds have to hope things fall their way. Chris Tillman will take the mound for Baltimore tonight in Tampa Bay. The Orioles (93-68) are one game behind the Yankees, looking to complete a sweep of Boston tonight, in the American League East.
If the Yankees lose and the Orioles win, Baltimore would host an AL East tiebreaker tomorrow. If the Yankees win tonight, the Orioles will play in the wild-card game Friday against either Oakland or Texas. If the Orioles win, they'll host the game, but if they lose, they'll play on the road. Both the Athletics and the Rangers had better head-to-head results against the Orioles this season.
In Oakland Wednesday, the Athletics (93-68) will try to sweep the Rangers to win the AL West. The two teams have identical records. The game is serving as a division championship.
