Two weeks after being named Redskins offensive coordinator, it looks like Jim Zorn may have a little more responsibility than originally planned. Zorn will take over for Joe Gibbs as the Redskins head coach.

The Loyola men's basketball team look strong Thursday night, defeating St. Peter's 81-69. The Greyhounds improve to 14-11 on the season, 9-4 in the MAAC.
Despite their less than perfect season, the Caps seem to be making their way up in the standings. Since coach Boudreau came on staff, the Caps have gone 20-10-4, and look to be improving.

Any day now for the Erik Bedard deal... The Seattle Post-Intelligencer says tomorrow is the day, but who knows?
The Ravens added Hue Jackson to their staff on Tuesday. Jackson, the former Bengals wide receivers coach, will take the quarterbacks coaching position in Baltimore. Andy Moeller, who was the line coach at Michigan last year, also was added to the Ravens' staff.
The Wizards looked to end their three-game skid against the 76ers on Tuesday night. Were they successful?
The Capitals trailed Columbus late in the third period after a Blue Jackets goal in the waning minutes. Check here to see if they could stage a comeback.

The Seattle papers and the Baltimore Sun are both reporting that an Erik Bedard-to-Seattle deal is about to be completed pending physicals. Two Mariners players, Adam Jones and reliever George Sherrill were in Baltimore taking physicals on Monday.
Things are really getting close, according to Geoff Baker’s blog for the Seattle Times.
The Maryland women's team came back from 10 down at halftime to tie Virginia Tech and then won the game in overtime, 74-71.

Legendary coach Bob Knight, he of 902 lifetime wins, the most of all time, has stepped down at Texas Tech.
The Super Bowl viewing audience reached 97.5 million, which is the second largest audience of all time ... ever ... for any show (besides the '83 finale of "MASH").
Meanwhile, the Super Bowl champion Giants are heading home, and already GM Jerry Reese is discussing a contract extension with coach Tom Coughlin. Also, defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo will interview for the Redskins coaching vacancy.
