• Investigate: If the Preakness infield is going to be as decadent as some predict, perhaps the Ravens’ Willie McGahee should check with Roger Goodell before riding as the parade grand marshal. It may be against the NFL’s code of conduct.
• Grand Old Gang: It’s sad to hear 75-year-old Bob Uecker, the hilarious Milwaukee Brewers radio guy for 40 years, is headed for serious heart surgery. There will never be another group as aptly named as his over-imbibing fan club: “Uecker’s Pukers.”
• Count The Wins: If the Ravens don’t walk through that powder-puff schedule for at least 12 victories this fall, something is wrong in Owings Mills.
• Count The Books: There are now three stories of Michael Oher’s rags-to-riches life scheduled to be in bookstores in the future. That’s already two more than John Unitas had written about him during his lifetime.
• Count The Stupids: It’s a sorry, sorry commentary on the state of journalism when Sports Illustrated posts online a 2011 NFL Mock Draft three days after the 2010 event ended.
