Bundy Sent To Delmarva; Josh Bell and Ryan Adams To Norfolk
The Orioles sent 2011 first-round pick Dylan Bundy, who wowed people last week with his popping fastball against proven veterans, to Single-A Delmarva.
The move comes as no surprise and it's good the team's management did not waste much time either. Fans would have wanted the team to rush him, like so many other failed Oriole arms, if he continued to impress against major league talent in camp.
Get it done now, get him some seasoning and hope that he develops.
In addition, infielder Ryan Adams and third baseman Josh Bell were sent to Triple-A Norfolk. Bell has never quite lived up to his promise since the Orioles acquired him in that George Sherrill trade in 2009. There is still time, because he's only 25, but the Birds were never really giving him a chance with Mark Reynolds still locked in at third base.
Adams faced a crowded competition for the second base position, what with the team acquiring Matt Antonelli to compete with Robert Andino in case Brian Roberts is not ready to go when the season begins.
