Orioles Outright Eveland To Norfolk
The bizarre Orioles journey of Dana Eveland took another twist Thursday as he was outrighted to Triple-A Norfolk. The Orioles traded two minor leaguers to the Dodgers during the offseason to get Eveland with the thought he might start for them.
But, the club found no spot for him there, or in the bullpen, so they designated him for assignment. Eveland spoke with optimism in January at FanFest that he would be in the starting rotation come Opening Day. With tomorrow being the big day, even four hours away, he couldn't be farther from Camden Yards.
General manager Dan Duquette seems to think Eveland still has worth. When injuries assuredly happen during the season, Eveland may still get a shot in Baltimore.
