Minicamp, OTA Dates Added To Updated Calendar
"KEMO" RETURNS TO BALTIMORE
By Joe Platania
Now that the league has released dates for all the teams' mandatory minicamps and voluntary organized team activities (OTAs), we can provide a further update of the NFL's and Ravens' offseason calendar.
The training camp opening and closing dates listed below are based on head coach John Harbaugh's previous camp patterns. He has always begun camp on a Monday and ended it just two days before the second preseason game.
Like other teams, Baltimore is still trying to acquire players to reach the 90-man roster limit, a change from the 80-man maximum that was waived because of last year's lockout.
One addition was made Thursday, when defensive tackle Ma'ake Kemoeatu was re-signed by the same team that promoted him to the 53-man active roster as an undrafted rookie in 2002.
Kemoeatu, brother of Pittsburgh Steelers guard Chris Kemoeatu, also played for Carolina and Washington, but was out of football last year. He is the 85th player on the Ravens' roster and is likely to be penciled in as a backup nose guard to third-year Alabama product Terrence Cody.
Kemoeatu was the Redskins' representative at the Ed Block Courage Awards banquet two years ago.
