Inside Lacrosse is reporting that Furman University has tabbed former Naval Academy head coach Richie Meade to guide its newly instituted lacrosse program.
Meade was 142-97 during 17 seasons in Annapolis. He is also the coach of the 2014 U.S. men's national team.
Meade can flat out coach and is a proven commodity when it comes to the NCAA tournament, having advanced to the 2004 title game. With Meade, Furman becomes instantly recognizable to recruits, particularly those from the Annapolis area.
