Reynolds Reinstated And Pomeranz Heads To DL
Mark Reynolds was called up from the disabled list Monday after straining his left oblique, the same injury that has now sent reliever Stu Pomeranz to the DL.
Pomeranz was warming up Sunday.
Pomeranz said something popped in his ribs, an injury he's never had before. He gave up his first run of the season, on any level, Friday against the Royals. Pomeranz has pitched six major league innings, giving up two 2 runs.
Reynolds was batting .191, but had hit safely during five of seven games before he was hurt. Reynolds has just two home runs and nine RBIs this season. Reynolds is on the team as a power hitter and he has to raise his offensive stats, because his defensive struggles are putting his longterm future with the Orioles in jeopardy.
