Britton Off DL And Sent To Norfolk; Pomeranz Headed To 60-Day DL
The Orioles announced that pitcher Zach Britton, who had a pretty promising rookie campaign a year ago, is finally coming off the DL, but will head to Triple-A Norfolk.
Britton, who had a shoulder injury, looked solid during a few starts in Bowie. Britton will have to be in Norfolk at least through June 16.
It's not exactly breaking news to say a healthy and effective Britton could positively impact the Orioles, who suffered from subpar starting pitching efforts during May.
Reliever Stu Pomeranz, who suffered an oblique injury last week in Baltimore, will head to the 60-day DL, a disappointing sign for a pitcher that had a promising start to the season.
