Andino Injury, Even If Small, Nothing To Mess With
Roberts Andino's shoulder didn't follow the rest of his body during Sunday's 4-0 loss to the Tigers.
Andino, playing second base, dove left for a ball during the sixth inning, and got up slowly after. He exited the game and will have an MRI today. He told the media after the game that it was nothing serious, but the Orioles are so depleted by injuries that they can't afford him to be hurt long term, no matter how confident he is.
Ryan Flaherty will likely get the start tonight in Minnesota. Andino started much of the season at second base until Brian Roberts returned in early June. Roberts is likely out again for the remainder of the season with a hip injury, making Andino invaluable. He is error prone, but the best all-around player left for second base.
