Phillies And O's Dance Partners Again?
A month after the Orioles traded for Jim Thome in a deal with the Phillies, the two clubs might be talking again on the eve of the trading dealine.
The Orioles are reportedly interested in starting pitcher Joe Blanton and have expressed reported interest in outfielders Shane Victorino, Hunter Pence and Juan Pierre.

The Phillies are in the unfamiliar position of being in the cellar of the NL East after several years of being one of the game's best teams.
Whether the O's would need these players is another story. The Phillies perpetually seem interested in dealing Blanton, and the Orioles do need starting pitching in a big way, outside of Wei-Yin Chen. Blanton's 4.59 ERA and 8-9 record are worrisome. The O's have plenty of those numbers already with pitchers that face more talented hitters in the American League.
That's an acquisition that wouldn't send the Orioles into another stratosphere.
