Gonzalez Spectacular For Orioles During Win Against Rays
The Orioles needed a big-game performance from Miguel Gonzalez and got one during Sunday's 1-0 win against Tampa Bay. Although he did not factor into the decision, Gonzalez threw seven scoreless innings, allowing just two hits. He struck out four batters and walked four as well.
Gonzalez's ERA fell to 3.80.
Taylor Teagarden, who spent the first half of the season on the DL with back injuries, collected his second game-winning hit of the season Sunday. He hit a double during the 10th, which scored Mark Reynolds.
The Orioles are now in sole possession of second place in the AL East, having taken two of three against the Rays. The Birds are 6.5 games behind the Yankees and a game back in the wild-card chase.
The O's have now won 10 one-run games in a row.
