Orioles Fall, 8-5, To Yankees
Adam Jones, Robert Andino and Manny Machado hit home runs for the Orioles, but the Birds still lost to the Yankees, 8-5, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards Sept. 7.
The Birds fell to one game behind the Yankees in the American League East with the loss. The Birds have hit nine homers during the first two games of the series, with six during Thursday's 10-6 victory against the Yankees.
Wei-Yin Chen gave up three home runs -- to Russell Martin, Steve Pearce and Alex Rodriguez -- Friday during the fourth and fifth innings.
Steve Johnson replaced Chen during the fifth. Chen went 4.2 innings, giving up seven runs, six hits and a walk. He struck out four Yankees.
Jones hit a three-run homer during the sixth inning and Andino's shot came in the seventh to cut the lead to 7-4.
The Yankees added an insurance run in the ninth when Derek Jeter singled home Ichiro Suzuki.
Machado hit his solo homer in the bottom of the inning to left field. Andino struck out to end the game.
