Jones Powers O's To Win In First Game Of Doubleheader
Adam Jones' two-run, fourth inning homer during the first game of Monday's doubleheader with the Blue Jays is already being considered one of the best in Oriole Park at Camden Yards' history.
The 4-1 win was filled with highlights, but Jones went 4-for-4 Monday and his 32nd home run was his 100th run scored of the season. He became the first Bird to score 100 runs since Brian Roberts in 2009. Jones' shot traveled well past the first section of left field.
Ryan Flaherty hit his fifth homer during the fifth inning, giving the Birds a 3-0 lead.
Steve Johnson got the win for the Orioles. He went four innings and tossed 96 pitches. Johnson told reporters after the game that he was uneven during the outing. Closer Jim Johnson recorded his 48th save of the season.
