IT'S OVER!!-7/27/08

Posted on July 27, 2008

Would you like some good news about the Orioles?  Sure you would.  The 15 game Sunday losing streak is over.  Garrett Olson pitches six solid inninngs (7hits 2er), and he gives the O's a rare quality start.  The bullpen shuts things down the rest of the way, and the Birds get the victory 5-2 today.  Quillermo Quiroz went 3-4 with 3 hits and 3rbis to lead the home team to the victory.  George Sherrill pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning to get his 30th save of the season.  My opinion, but this should be the last appearance in an Oriole uniform for Sherrill.  He's a fan favorite, but they need to start making moves to improve this team for the future.  Sherrill is right now one of the club's most valuable commodities, and I think Andy MacPhail is too smart to let the deadline go by without making a couple of moves.  The Trade Deadline is Thursday, and I think MacPhail's phone will be quite busy over the next 72hrs.
