Rob Long’s Morning Show Time Change

Baltimore sports talker Fox 1370, WVIE, has added the "America's Morning News" program to morning drive, 5-9 a.m.
The Washington, D.C.,-based Talk Radio Network syndicated show is supplemented with local news, weather, traffic and sports headlines from WVIE, which is now dubbing itself "V1370."
The station is the sister of news talker WCBM, 680 AM.
Rob Long's 1370 morning sports show will reportedly get shifted from an 8 a.m. to a 9 a.m. start time. There will be no changes in the rest of 1370's sports talk line-up.

The latest Baltimore radio ratings are out for the key all-male age 25-54 demo. So, how well are Baltimore's sports talkers doing?
For the second week of April, in the key morning drive slot, CBS's 105.7 The Fan, with Ed Norris and Steve Davis, placed sixth.
"Mike And Mike In The Morning" on ESPN 1300, took 22nd place. The same show on Washington, D.C.'s ESPN 980 placed 25th in the Baltimore market.
WVIE, Fox 1370 ranked 45th in mornings. The Orioles' flagship, WBAL 1090 AM, placed fifth in mornings with its news programming.
The top Baltimore morning radio show among men? "Mickey and Amelia" on 98 Rock.

Jim Williams, who pens a sports media column for the Examiner, notes that a number of Washington teams, including the Capitals and the Wizards, are actively marketing themselves to the Baltimore market.
Which leads one to wonder: What if Baltimore and Washington were one sports market?
Baltimore is said to be the 20th largest market with 2.7 million people, and Washington is seventh with nearly 5.6 million people.
But if you combine the two markets, with about 6.3 million people, it would become the fourth largest market, behind New York City, Los Angeles and Chicago.
While Baltimore doesn't have a hockey team, its TV viewers are increasingly watching Washington Capitals games. Recent playoff games got a 2 share in Baltimore.
"The Capitals are clearly a regional franchise, perhaps the only true one," Williams said. "They attract fans from the Pennsylvania borders to Richmond and have the third most extensive radio network in the USA among hockey teams."

The NBA Playoffs on ESPN, ABC, TNT, and NBA-TV have posted big numbers.
TNT's first-round action was the most-watched and highest-rated postseason to date in cable television history, with a 2.7 average rating.
Not such good news for coverage of the NFL draft on the NFL Network and ESPN. Those TV ratings were down 14 percent from last year.
