• Considered arguably the greatest defensive player in college lacrosse history, Pietramala was a first team All-American in 1987, 88, and 89.

• Only person in the history of college lacrosse to earn NCAA Division I Player of the Year honors (1989) and Division I Coach of the Year honors (2000, 2002)
• One of just two coaches to earn National Coach of the Year honors at two schools (Cornell, 2000)
