IndyCar Facts
The IndyCar series is the premier open-wheel racing series in the United States. Races are held on oval tracks, permanent road courses and temporary street courses. The Indianapolis 500 (mile) race is the premier event of the IndyCar schedule.

Vehicles
• IndyCar vehicles are open-wheel, single-seat and have an open cockpit.
• The cars are powered by the 3.5-liter Honda Indy V-8 engine.
• IndyCar vehicles run on 100 percent fuel-grade ethanol.
• The cars can produce approximately 650 horsepower and can reach nearly 230 mph.
IndyCar Series
• Each of the eight pistons in the IndyCar engines travels nearly one mile up and down in the cylinder every minute.
• The cars can accelerate from 0 to 100 mph in less than three seconds.
