Showalter Items Highlight KidsPeace Auction

By Ray Schulte, SchulteAuctions.com

KidsPeace, a non-profit organization dedicated to servicing community-based programs concerning Foster Care kids and the families who support them, recently approached SchulteAuctions.com about consigning and auctioning off memorabilia and unique experiences to increase the group's fund-raising efforts.

One of the KidsPeace featured items in the Schulte November online auction is a pair of custom-made Orioles/KidsPeace jerseys (Lot No. 3) worn in the KidsPeace Public Service Announcement television commercial and autographed by Buck and Angela Showalter. The commercial was shot before an Orioles game at Camden Yards to promote the Oct. 29 KidsPeace Annual 5K Run and Halloween Fun Run.

After the shoot, Buck and Angela signed their respective jerseys and donated them to KidsPeace. Both signatures were witnessed and authenticated with Schulte Sports tamper-proof holograms. KidsPeace then consigned the signed, worn jerseys to Schulte Auctions for the purpose of including them in the November monthly online auction. Schulte Auctions agreed to waive the seller's commission so all the proceeds would benefit the non-profit organization.

In addition, a second item (Lot No. 6) consigned to Schulte Auctions is a great opportunity for the online winning bidder and three guests to meet Buck on the field before a regular-season game, watch batting practice, stay for the game and receive a personally autographed jersey from Buck Showalter.

More and more non-profit organizations are reaching out to online auction companies to expand their fund-raising efforts, especially in this difficult economic climate. Online auction companies, such as Schulte Auctions, not only offer expanded fund-raising opportunities, they provide awareness concerning the organization's cause. Visit KidsPeace.org to find out more about the work this organization provides the Baltimore community.

The SchulteAuctions.com November online auction started Nov. 1 and will close at 9:15 p.m. Nov. 30. New sports and entertainment memorabilia are added every day. Visit SchulteAuctions.com for more information on how you can win the Showalter-worn and -signed jerseys and/or get the opportunity to meet Buck and watch an Orioles pregame batting practice in 2012. All KidsPeace proceeds benefit programs and services within the Maryland area.
