Coppin State Eagles
The Coppin State women's volleyball team (3-13) won its home-opener, defeating Wagner in five games last Sunday afternoon at the Coppin Center. Indira Laurencin led the team with a season-high 23 kills and four blocks. Brittany Arvin followed with 17 kills.
Coppin State's women's tennis team fell to Rider 4-3, ending the fall season at 2-2. Andreea Apostu finished the fall at 4-0 after defeating Caitlin Crawbruck 6-4, 6-2. Ana Sebescen won her second straight match as the No. 3 singles player, by defeating Danielle Morse 6-0, 6-1.

Johns Hopkins Blue Jays
The Johns Hopkins football team broke a two-game losing streak and improved its record to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the Centennial Conference with an impressive 14-7 road win over Franklin & Marshall last Saturday. Johns Hopkins is back in action this Saturday when it heads back on the road to take on Gettysburg at 1 p.m.
The No. 19 field hockey team (7-5, 3-1) rolled to a 3-1 win over Franklin & Marshall last Saturday in a Centennial Conference matchup. The Blue Jays were led by sophomore Emily Miller, who scored the game's first goal and assisted on the third.
The 11th-ranked women's soccer team continued its strong play with a 4-1 victory over Swarthmore last Saturday night at Homewood Field. Senior Laurie Baumann led the
Blue Jays with a hat trick, the second of her career.

Loyola Greyhounds
The women's soccer team moved to 3-0 in MAAC play with a 3-2 win over Niagara last Sunday afternoon at Diane Geppi-Aikens Field. Freshman Christina Gomez has propelled the Hounds to their fast conference start with five goals in three games.
The men's basketball team released its basketball schedule and will open up with an exhibition game on Nov. 3 at home against Catholic University at 7 p.m. The team opens its regular season against Navy on Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. at St. John's in Queens, N.Y. The Greyhounds' non-conference schedule will also feature road games at Michigan State and Northwestern.
Morgan State Bears
The Morgan State football team (3-3, 2-1) is on the upswing after winning its second straight game, a 32-0 rout at North Carolina A&T. MSU quarterback Mario Melton led the Bears, passing for 168 yards and a touchdown and running for two touchdowns. The Bears are back in action this Saturday when they take on Howard in Washington D.C.
The Morgan State volleyball team extended its current winning streak to six matches with a 3-0 non-conference victory over Wagner on Sunday afternoon at Hill Field House. The Lady Bears (10-6) finished the match with 41 kills on 88 attempts for a hitting percentage of .307. Teneika Fellows tied a career-high with five service aces, while Ivanti Bush and Jeniqua Moran added three aces apiece.
Towson Tigers
The Towson football team turned the ball over three times and allowed a blocked punt, which was returned for a touchdown, in a 28-7 home loss to Maine. The Tigers, who were ranked as high as No. 17, are now 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the Atlantic 10. Sean Schaefer, who led the nation's No. 1 passing attack with 290 yards and a touchdown pass, had two fumbles, an interception and was sacked nine times. Towson is back in action this Saturday when it faces eighth-ranked Massachusetts for Homecoming and a 3 p.m. kick-off.
The men's soccer team moved to 4-0-1 in the CAA and won its fourth straight game with a 1-0 victory at home over Delaware last Sunday afternoon. Senior Sebastian Hansel scored the only goal of the game on a 25-yard direct kick with 10:51 remaining in regulation.
The Towson volleyball team defeated Virginia Commonwealth University in five games in Richmond last Saturday evening. Sophomore Ally Perko led the team with 22 kills and 11 digs, while hitting .250. Towson (16-5, 7-2) has won five games in a row and is back in action this Friday night at George Mason.
UMBC Retrievers
The UMBC volleyball team (9-9, 2-1 America East) defeated Maine 3-1 Friday at UMBC RAC Arena. Amanda Willey had 14 assisted blocks as the Retrievers racked up 20.5 team blocks. Ashley Oscars had 16 kills and Sarah Fillmore had 11 kills. UMBC returns to action for a non-conference tilt against Georgetown on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
The men's soccer team defeated Maine 2-1 in overtime last Saturday in Orono. Senior
Kevin Mezzadara scored his second goal of the game 34 seconds into the second overtime, lifting the Retrievers to their first conference win in America East action. Mezzadra has nine goals on the season.
Midnight Madness returns to UMBC this Friday night at the RAC Arena from 10 p.m. -12:30 a.m. This year's theme is "Tales from the RAC...a celebration of Basketball and Halloween." Cash prizes will be given away to the top three costumes. At the stroke of midnight the school will introduce the men's and women's basketball teams.
