Attention, runners: Want to take your young ones out and let them trot alongside you? Want to let them have a dodge-the-obstacle race while you're doing a 5K through the mud?
Well, those races -- and others of most every description -- will be available April 17, when a unique event called Mud Chasers Day occurs in a big field at 15860 Ensor Mill Rd. in Sparks.
It's a totally family event and they pretty much make up the rules as they go, but crawling through the mud and other impediments has attracted thousands of participants in other venues. Charlotte Hetterick, who is in charge of the Sparks event, said there would be food and drink for all and any proceeds help the Hereford Volunteer Fire Department.
To sign up early, check out the Web site at www.mudchasers.com. There will also no doubt be room for any latecomers who want to spend a spring Sunday doing a run-wallow.
