2011 record: 17-3, 6-2

After tying the program record for wins last season, the Greyhounds were picked to finish third in the 2012 Big East preseason poll. Inside Lacrosse ranked Loyola No. 11 in its preseason poll.

Senior defenders Ana Heneberry, the Big East Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, and Kellye Gallagher made the preseason All-Big East team, along with senior goalkeeper Kerry Stoothoff and sophomore midfielder Marlee Paton.

Paton ranks first among returning players in points scored last season (48). Gallagher caused 43 turnovers in 2011, a 2.26 per-game average that ranked fifth in Division I, and picked up a team-high 59 ground balls. Heneberry has 84 career caused turnovers, which ranks fourth in program history.
