Coach: Rick Sowell, first season
Conference: Patriot League
2011 record: 4-9, 2-4

Rick Sowell enters his first season at the helm of a Midshipmen squad picked fifth out of seven teams in the Patriot League preseason poll. Nine players from the 2011 team graduated, but only two were starters.

Among the eight returning starters are leading scorers Sam Jones and Tucker Hull, sophomore attackmen who each had 23 goals and 15 assists last year. Hull, the 2011 PL Rookie of the Year, earned honorable mention on Inside Lacrosse's preseason All-America list.

Senior faceoff specialist Logan West, one of the team's co-captains, finished first on the team in ground balls (45) and held a 52.1 faceoff win percentage during the 2011 season. His co-captain is senior attackman Taylor Reynolds, who started all 13 games last year and contributed 12 points.
