Coach: Cindy Timchal, fifth season
Conference: Patriot League
2011 record: 15-6, 4-2

The Midshipmen return nine starters from the 2011 team, which ended its season during the first round of the NCAA tournament. Junior attacker Jasmine DePompeo started every game last season and ended the year with a 4.71 points-per-game average, fourth best in Division I.

Navy's returning defensive leaders are senior Kierstin King, who led the team in ground balls (34), and junior Claire Olechowski, a St. Mary's alum, who ranked first in caused turnovers last year (18). King is a four-year starter, a 2011 All-Patriot League first-team selection and the 2012 team captain.

The Midshipmen lost their 2011 team captain, Caitlin Mandrin Hill, to graduation, and she will be difficult to replace. Mandrin Hill had a team-best 75 draw controls in 2011 and finished second behind DePompeo in points (69).
