Booker Corrigan's Baltimore Lacrosse Top 10

Presented by CSELax.com

Boys

Calvert Hall defeated Boys' Latin, 8-6, for the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Conference 'A' Conference championship May 18. The Cardinals (16-3) used early- and mid-season losses as lessons en route to becoming the powerhouse they were expected to be. Fans were once again treated to the attack play of senior Jacob Kelly this year. Midfielders senior Zach Green, juniors Grant Mitchell and Jack Sawyer and sophomore Cole Herbert stepped up, as well.

Boys' Latin will soon graduate twins Matt and Chris Brandau. Matt is a star attackman, and Chris is considered the best goalie in the state. The Lakers fought off an admirable effort from McDonogh in the MIAA 'A' Conference semifinals when they beat the Eagles, 8-5, May 15.

Loyola earned a trip to the semifinals this season with a 10-8, come-from-behind win against a strong, well-coached Severn team May 11. The Dons fell to Calvert Hall in the semifinals May 16. St. Paul's, which suffered two tough, late-season overtime losses, will soon graduate some tremendous defenders in Andrew Caples and Nick Hapney.

On the public school side, Hereford, Westminster, and Severna Park all still have title games to win. Towson High School had a great year, and a special mention has to go out to Generals junior Leighton Bechdel, a Division I football prospect as a kicker who can also bring the noise on the lacrosse field.
