Trio Of Terps Invited To 2019 NFL Combine

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- University of Maryland defensive lineman Byron Cowart, offensive lineman Derwin Gray and defensive back Darnell Savage Jr. will participate in the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine.

The combine will run March 1-4 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The NFL Network and NFL.com will have coverage of the entire combine.

Tentative 2019 NFL Scouting Combine On-Field Workout Schedule:

• Friday, March 1 -- Running Backs, Offensive Linemen, Placekickers and Special Teamers

• Saturday, March 2 -- Quarterbacks, Wide Receivers, Tight Ends

• Sunday, March 3 -- Defensive Linemen, Linebackers

• Monday, March 4 -- Defensive Backs
 

Cowart, an Honorable Mention All-Big Ten selection, led the Terps with 3.0 sacks and was tied for third on the squad with 5.0 tackles for loss in 2018. He started all 12 games and recorded interceptions against Rutgers and Michigan State.

Gray, also an Honorable Mention All-Big Ten selection, anchored a Maryland offensive line that helped the Terps rush for 230.2 yards per game, which ranked third in the Big Ten and tied for 18th nationally. Maryland rushed for more than 300 yards in a game five times and more than400 yards twice.

Savage, a 2018 Second Team All-Big Ten selection, tied for second in the conference and ranked 13th nationally with four interceptions during his senior season. The defensive back ranked second on the team with 5.5 tackles for loss and fourth in total tackles (51). The leader of Maryland's defense, Savage ended his Terps career with 30 consecutive starts.

The 2019 NFL Draft is set for April 25-27 in Nashville, Tenn.
