Ravens Announce 2019 Preseason Schedule

April 9, 2019
The Baltimore Ravens will open the preseason against the Jacksonville Jaguars Aug. 8 and will also face the Green Bay Packers in home preseason action, the team announced April 9. After playing those two games at home, the Ravens finish the preseason on the road, visiting the Philadelphia Eagles Aug. 22 and the Washington Redskins Aug. 29.

The Ravens also confirmed they will hold joint practices with the Jaguars and the Eagles in advance of those preseason contests, something head coach John Harbaugh had indicated was in the works.

The Ravens held joint practices with the Los Angeles Rams and Indianapolis Colts last preseason, and coaches and players praised the workouts as a productive change from the daily, training-camp monotony of intrasquad practice.

"It gives you a chance to see some different schemes as much as anything, and some different players," Harbaugh said March 26 as he met with the media at the league meetings in Arizona.

Before last year, the Ravens' last joint practices had been held with the Eagles in 2015, and they didn't go as well. The Ravens weren't pleased with what they accomplished in practice or in the game, which turned out to be a 40-17 loss.

"The thing we're starting to learn over the years is how to practice against other teams," Harbaugh said, "what the style is, what the tempos are, how to organize the practices to get the most out of them. Last year went really well with both the Rams and the Colts. If the two coaches are aligned with what you're trying to get out of it, it seems like it's been really good for us."

The Ravens and Eagles will be squaring off in the third preseason game, which is traditionally when starters see their most extensive playing time of the preseason. The preseason finale, at Washington, marks the third straight year the teams meet in preseason play.

That was also the last year the Ravens lost a preseason game; they have gone 13-0 throughout the past three preseasons, including a 5-0 mark last year that included the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio.

The regular-season schedule will be released later this month.

Here is the full Ravens preseason schedule: (Home games in CAPS, times TBA):

Thursday, Aug. 8 -- JACKSONVILLE
Thursday, Aug. 15 -- GREEN BAY
Thursday, Aug. 22 -- at Philadelphia
Thursday, Aug. 29 -- at Washington
