PressBox caught up with Ravens right guard Marshal Yanda to ask him about his favorite sports star as a kid, his favorite road trip and more.
What's a bucket-list place you've never been to?
Marshal Yanda: Alaska
Who was your favorite sports star when you were a kid?
MY: It would have to be Michael Jordan. I was a kid in the '90s, and he was making hay, so I'd say him.
What was your favorite sports team growing up?
MY: The Iowa Hawkeyes. We didn't have a pro team in Iowa.
If you weren't an NFL player, what job would you have?
MY: That's a tough one, but probably farming in Iowa.
On a scale from 1 (terrible) to 10 (awesome), how good of a cook are you?
MY: I give myself a solid 6. I'm more of a griller, so my best smoked meat would be brisket.
What's your favorite movie of all time?
MY: Another tough one. "Shawshank Redemption."
What do you like to do on an off day?
MY: I spend time with my family. I don't do much on my off days during the season. Offseason, it would be fishing.
What's your favorite road city?
MY: It would have to be Pittsburgh. They are in our division, and usually those are big-time games.
What TV shows are you binge-watching?
MY: Last one we just watched was "Mindhunter" on Netflix. That was really good.
What's your favorite thing about Baltimore?
The food. The restaurants, the creativity, food we never had in Iowa, it's just on another level.
