PressBox Job Opportunity:

PressBox is a Baltimore based sports media company with multiple advertising platforms, including print, internet, radio, television, sports event marketing and other soon to be added mediums. We are proud that our audience and revenue are both growing in a difficult economy. We are looking to add one or two people as advertising account managers. Account managers are responsible for generating advertising revenue by prospecting, selling, collecting payment and renewing accounts. PressBox seeks individuals who are self-motivated, goal-oriented and willing to work on commission basis. Other necessary background and skills include:

• Strong presentation and people skills.

• Desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment where no task or job is too big or too small for any member of the team.

• Documented previous experience in advertising and/or sponsorship sales.

• Ability to create presentations and proposals using appropriate software (Word / Excel / PowerPoint, etc.)

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office software.

• Understanding of basic internet marketing and sales concepts.

• No fear, no call reluctance.

Compensation includes an industry leading commission rate and budget based bonuses, along with partially subsidized health insurance and reimbursement of designated expenses. (Mobile phone, gas and approved client entertainment.) We are open to flex scheduling, working from home and other creative work environment ideas. Note: there will be no salary or guaranteed draw. Commission is paid as advertising revenue is collected. If you are not comfortable with these policies, the job is not for you.

Sales philosophy:

We do not believe in account lists -- we believe in "relationship control," meaning, if you are doing a good job, the account won't let another seller pitch them. If a potential account is not currently advertising or being actively pursued, it is available to be pursued. We believe in hard work. We believe in personal accountability. We understand new media; if you are not familiar with how to use Facebook, Linked In, Twitter or other social media platforms you will need to learn them quickly. We have one sales meeting a week. Account executives create a daily email outlining their account progress. We are low on drama, high on encouragement, strong on training and not accepting of excuses.
