Lou from the Coast

What's up everybody, Lou from the Coast back with more winners in this weekend's football action. I'm sitting at 8-4 so far, let's keep rolling.

College:

BEST Bet: Purdue +14.5 over Notre Dame
I know, I know, the Irish came back last week in East Lansing and are now ready to roll. Not so fast, my friends, there's still the matter of the Irish defense being LIT UP the last two weeks. Purdue is loaded on offense. Notre Dame wins, but it's a struggle.

Iowa + 7.5 over Ohio State
Great game here, Iowa is an underrated team that will hang with the No. 1 Buckeyes. Ohio State struggled offensively last week against Penn State, scoring two late defensive TDs en route to a deceiving 28-6 win. Iowa wins OUTRIGHT!

Minnesota +10 over Michigan
Bryan Cupito and the Gophers played Purdue tough last weekend in West Lafayette. Minnesota's battle with the Wolverines will be a close, and you can always count on Lloyd Carr to make a bonehead call to cost Michigan the cover. Take the points.

NFL:

San Diego -2 over Baltimore
These two teams are a combined 5-0 against teams that are a combined 0-13. That being said, San Diego is coming off a bye and LaDainian Tomlinson should have some success in Baltimore. I just can't see the Ravens scoring much on Shawne Merriman and the Bolts defense.

Chicago -3.5 over Seattle
The Bears have looked great the first three weeks with the exception of Rex Grossman's ridiculous interception inside his own 5-yard line last week in Minnesota. Shaun Alexander is out for the defending NFC champs and the Bears defense will be able to shut down the Seahawks receivers. Bears get an easy win.

Philadelphia -10 over Green Bay
If the Giants don't recover that fumble a few weeks ago to get them within 10 of the Eagles, then Philly is 3-0 and looking like one of the teams to beat in the NFC. Instead they're 2-1 with wins over San Francisco and Houston. The Eagles are for real and they'll make a deep run in the playoffs. Remember where you heard it first.

Good Luck everybody. See you next week right here in PressBox, the exclusive home of Lou from the Coast.
